Why choosing LED lighting


Many are the advantages of this technology both in the economic field and from a practical and aesthetic point of view. We are listing some on them:

High light efficiency: with a few Watts of consumption LED units emit a large amount of light compared with traditional light sources (150lm/W against 70 lm/W fluorescent lighting,20 incandescent lamp)= saving from 50% to 80% on your electricity bills
Duration of at least 50,000 hours against the 1,000 of an incandescent bulb and 10,000 (if of good quality '!) of a compact fluorescent = savings on maintenance.
Maximum output power and instant switching on: differently from the several seconds of pre-heating of a fluorescent lamp, where the maximum yield is achieved only after a few minutes = Immediate vision of the environment, easy implementation of motion sensors.
Aesthetics: the compositions of LED modules are adapted to the structure, you can have your house without traditional lamps or light chandeliers but unique and personalized lighting units(coloured too!). Today the colours of the light and consequently the colour rendition can be chosen on the basis of a wide range, from 2000 to 6000 K (degrees Kelvin).
Insensitivity 'to humidity, temperature variations, voltage variations (when fed with good equipment).
Slow degrade: at the end of life, the intensity of light will decline slowly, but considering it on 5 hours a day for every day of the year,this will happen after 30 years!
Security: the power of a LED circuit board is at low voltage (less than 35 volts) so if you touch the source of light for some reason you will not get an electric shock and it will not burn you.
No UV emission: Ultra Violet rays can be harmful to the skin, food, clothing; the LED emission spectrum does not include those wavelengths.
Low IF emission: Infra Red rays carry large amounts of heat that can ruin the merchandise on display, to annoy the people when approaching them, to increase room temperature forcing the air conditioning system to hard work. The LED has very low emission in the Infrared Rays.
No substances harmful to the environment: the disposal of the LED is easier compared to sodium lamps or mercury vapors (neon), there is no danger to humans nor to environment, even in case of damage.


The only drawback for buyers may be represented by the initial investment, but this is soon rewarded by lower expenses (already mentioned).

On the contrary, for the manufacturers is much more difficult as many are the elements that should be kept into considerionthe: the plan of the lighting unit, the fixing in the correct position, the specific choice of color temperatures according to the different purposes,the supply of good performative power supplies and the study of the dissipation of heat from the anode cathode junction, that affects the duration of the component.

So the LED lighting has no negative side, this is why it is more and more used. But watch out, you must carefully choose the right product to buy, in order to avoid shoddy equipment which, although at first sight may appear to be good, during the time (even very shortly) can bring out the worst flaws as the change in colour of single LED units (you have many examples in shops frequented daily), the extinction of some of them, anticipating the end of lamp life. So beware of cheap products that you find on the shelves of any stores or stalls, look for lighting professionals for your shop or your home, important places, where you spend most of your life.
